Hello everyone, today I decided to make some Christmas gingerbread biscuits, so I thought I would take a few photos and share with you how I did it. I actually used Zoella's recipe for gingerbread which she did a video on last Christmas and adapted it a little.
You will need
75g light brown soft sugar
2 heaped tablespoons golden syrup
1 tablespoon of water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
75g butter
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
225g plain flour- add more if needed
icing tubes-any colour
1~ add the sugar to a saucepan on low heat.
2~ Add the golden syrup (wet the spoon with cold water before so that the syrup comes off well).
3~ add the cinnamon and ginger.
4~ add the butter and stir thoroughly so it doesn't burn.
5~ add the baking powder and sifted flour and take off the heat.
6~ roll out with a rolling pin and don't forget to sprinkle the bench with flour so it doesn't stick.
7~ put the biscuits onto the a greased baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes.
8~now for the icing! you can do what ever you like and be as creative as possible!
9~ the final product!
If you decide to bake these gingerbread biscuits be sure to tag me in any photos on instagram!Have a lovely week!
