Hello everyone,
Today I thought I would share with you why my minimalistic
skincare routine is saving my skin. Now being part of the beauty/ blogging
world I found that love to try out new skincare products from the drugstore.
However, I feel like I must have wasted so much money on products that just don’t
work for my skin. So, I have decided, since the sun has come out here in
England, it would be best to give my skin a bit of a breather. In the summer, I
try to wear as little make up as possible as I really don’t like the way
foundation feels on my skin, especially in the heat.
So, I have decided to strip back on the make-up, to as
little as concealer, powder, bronzer and a little bit of eyebrow pencil to fill
in my brows. I have even decided to strip back on the skincare that I have been
using. I find that the less I put on my skin the better. So recently I have
decided that instead of using an array of products on my face, I have started
to use just make up remover, moisturiser and tan (with the exception of a face
mask once in a while).
I begin my routine by removing my make up with the Garnier
micellar water. I have used this micellar water for around 3 years now and I love
it, if you would like to see a full review, click here. I just use this mainly
on my eyes to remove the concealer and eyebrow product. I just pop a little bit
onto a cotton pad and remove it this way. I then wash my face with just a
little bit of cold water, but I have decided not to include the step of a face
wash.
I then use a moisturiser that is great for my dehydrated
skin, the Garnier Skin Active Botanical day cream with rose water. I have found
that being in the sun and also using a tan can make my face relatively dry, and
this moisturiser is perfect for my skin. It feels amazing on the skin and has
the nicest consistency and texture. It is also quite thick, which is something I
really like in a moisturiser as I feel it really penetrates the skin.
Finally,
in my routine I will use the Garnier no streaks face tan. Now if you have
followed y blog for a while you will know that this is one of my all-time
favourite products. This is one of the best face tans I have ever used that
just gives the most perfect natural glow. To see a full review, click here. Sometimes
I will go in with a face mask or sheet mask if my skin is feeling really dry or
I have a few red areas. I do this probably around once a week as I don’t want
to be too harsh on my skin.
I really hope this post has helped you in some way! What products are your go to skincare products?

My go to skincare at the moment is all La Mer. Pricey, but I have noticed such a difference in my skin!

oh yes i have heard that it is amazing!! xx
DeleteI love that Micellar Water - it's one of my go-to products as well. I also use a toner water and then a moisturizer with SPF 50 - because the Minnesota sun can be surprisingly harsh.
