Hello everyone,
Today I thought I would share with you the easiest Mince Pie recipe ever. I honestly can not tell you how easy these were to make, probably one of the easiest recipes I have tried. Now I am actually not a massive fan of mince pies but I really wish I loved them. So I hoping in a couple of years my taste buds will adapt to mince pies just like mine have done with olives lol. So here is my really simple recipe for mince pies, I really hope you enjoy.
Ingredients
1 jar of mince meat
1 pack of shortcrust Pastry
Icing Sugar
Method
- Firstly, take some plain flour to sprinkle on your surface so the pastry does not stick. Place the prepared pastry ono the surface and use a rolling pin to roll out the dough. Make sure it is less than 1cm thick.
- Next, take a circular cutter that is just a little bigger than the circles on the tray and cut out the base for the mince pie.
- Use some butter or oil spray and grease the tray and then place the dough onto the tray and push the pastry into it to create the dome shape.
- Now you can add a small teaspoon of mince meat into your little pastry cases. Make sure you don't fill it too much otherwise you will get some leakages.
- Now use the spare dough and cut out some little stars, or any shape you wish, to pop on top of the mince meat.
- Bake at gas mark 6 or 200 degrees c for around 15 minutes or until golden brown. Make sure to keep an eye out as you don't want to burn the filling.
- If you have any pastry left, you could make some with different fillings for those who don't like the mince meat, maybe strawberry jam or marmalade.
- Once they are cooked, leave to cool for 5 minutes and then dust with icing sugar.
I really hope you enjoyed this festive post, these are simple and easy to make in just under half an hour. See you next time!
